How do you stop foxes coming into the garden?

I live in a town with a wood not too far off and have a problem with foxes coming into the back garden.

I have pet rabbits so am obviously concerned about their safety. I don't wish to hurt the foxes just keep them away from my garden.

Any one help?

Reply:I have the same problem but the fox has killed many of my outdoor animals over the years. i have lost 5 rabbits (all in one night) and 7 hens. i asked my uncle (a registered gunsman) who said getting a male (human) to urinate on the fence can stop them (doesnt work with my fox) or hanging a fox tail up on the fence can stop them too (have not tried yet).
Reply:I don't know what will keep the foxes out of your yard. If I was in your position I would try to make sure the rabbit's hutch is fox proof. I have seen fox tracks around my rabbit hutches before but none have been able to get to the rabbits. Bobcats are a different story. Last week one got through the latch on the shelter and killed all of them.
Reply:My dad put gripper rod ( for carpets ) on the top of his fence.

Its very sharp and he did it to stop people climbing over his fence. It works to stop cats so it may stop foxes.

The best way is electric fencing.

Make sure your hutches are double wired as foxes grab them through the wire and pull their skins off.

Also have secure latches or locks on the doors.

Foxes can easily open doors.
Reply:i was told to get a male to wee in the garden but i don't know if it is a old wives tale
