How can I hold a party in my garden in winter?

I am celebrating my 40th birthday this November and want to have a party at my home. I'd like to be able to use the garden - at the very least, as a haven for the smokers.





I've had a look at marquee hire but all the ones I have found are for bigger spaces - my garden is about 40ftx40ft. I guess I could get a few patio heaters. Anyone got any better suggestions?

Winter is still perfect. Candles are great at making the garden seem warm and cosy. Sented ones are the best. Use colourful sheets to wrap around furniture. Small gazebos can create good shelter and they are quite cheap. Scatter blankets around, that way if people get cold they can wrap themselves in them.





The best parties are in the garden and the kitchen!!





Just use lots of colour and candles!!!
Reply:Have you thought about little chimineas scattered about? You may be able to borrow a few from your friends.The fires in them make it cosy feeling! Won't put out as much heat as a patio heater but nowhere near as expensive to run.

Reply:You can get a 6m x 6m (20 foot x 20 foot) marguee and wack a heater in that. we had one in october and wilth everyone inside had to turn the heater off. These size marquees can be hired as I hire them out, however I am not touting for business as London is way too far to go! Good luck just put marquee hire in a local search engine and you will be sorted!
Reply:i have a very odd shaped garden an we have late year parties. i hooked up tarpaulins and used heaters/ mainly regular gas heaters and used ground sheets in food areas, i also put up a very large tent, great as lots of people could crash out too xx we even put the pool up an bought a heater for that xx
Reply:if not snowing a gazebo,plenty garden lights,bbq if your freinds will do it 4 u,lots of drink and loud music, its your party enjoy it good friends and family will make sure you do no matter what the weather,happy birthday 4 then

Reply:Check out what your army-navy surplus store has in the way of canvas/poly tarps. They'll probably have tent poles too, and it won't cost you a bundle.
Reply:You can buy smaller marquees from home and garden stores like Focus or Homebase. They are usually less than £100.
