Ladies, what do you wear when you work in your garden? Do you have guys checking you out too?

i get it on the street every day. comments like nice butt and nice a**. can't cross a street without a horn blast or a cat call from a passing car. now i expect that on the beach or even on the street. but lately, i even get it while working in my own yard and garden. i've had cable dudes spend hours making repairs in their cherrypickers, checking me out from above. now they are putting up a large building across the alley. you never see anyone working until i go out to garden. then dozens of construction workers apear out of nowhere to work on my side of the building. i can't bend over with out hearing cheers from the crowd. when they take lunch they all sit and stare. now they started passing around a pair of binoculars. i used to wear my bikini in my garden because it was private. when the building started i switched to baggy cutoff, but that didn't stop them. don't tell me to garden later after they are gone. i only have that time i can garden. help. what can i wear?

My wife had this same problem. You should wear something that is loose, comfortable, and can get dirty. You must learn to totally ignore their comments, whistles etc. They are having fun in their own way while at work. The more attention you give the more you will receive. During their lunchtime try to spend time somewhere in your garden that obstructs their view if possible. One day, they may stop looking and you will be unhappy about that too. You should always wear something that you would be comfortable wearing should a stranger or a neighbour drop by. Or when the whistles start put something over yourself but you may hear a few boos.
Reply:As you can probably see I'm not a lady. but..... Fortunately I haven't had this problem when in the garden. If I did I would try things like this. Work behind a beach umbrella / screen. Turn the music up so I can't hear them. As far as I'm concerned its sexual harassment and it should be reportable.
Reply:I wear a ratty T-shirt 2 sizes too big, old jeans and a baseball hat.

Hmmmm.... how powerful is the sprayer on your garden hose?
Reply:Wow, that's bad. I luv getting out by the pool topless, but no one can see me. I guess you need to go with a baggy tshirt and some long shorts. Shame about the tan but sounds like you don't have much choice

Reply:My garden isn't really in public view, so I haven't had that problem.

I usually wear loose, mid-length shorts, or jeans that are busting through the knees. And a ratty t-shirt.

Maybe try wearing rattier clothes, loose, but moderately covering. (don't show midriff or high thigh). It might not help, if they're in the habit.

Try real hard to mentally shut them out.
