I have a garden and some of my plants are getting eaten on the leaves. I think they are snails but I am not sure. I would rather not use chemicals.
How can I prevent pests from my garden without chemicals?
There are types of plants that repel pests (ie marigolds are supposed to repel mosquitos). I would try to look up some other plants. Also things like crushed red pepper boiled and diluted in water works on some plants too to keep bugs away.
Reply:you need to get a book about organic gardening. one thing you might try is a spray bottle with 10 parts water and 1 part soap and spray the bugs, not saturating the leaves.
Reply:Snails are attracted to beer which kills them dead sans the chemical risk. Put out a few jar lids full of Bud and it can even be stale and place them at the base of plants you wish to protect.
Reply:dig a hole put a large paper cup in it fill with beer the snails will do the rest
good luck BOB
Reply:Last year I had a problem with aphids, and I know that vinegar, water and lemon juice helps. Salt will usually dehydrate slugs or snails (since they're mostly water anyway)
