How would you go about creating a garden in your backyard?

A friend of mine is trying to secretly make a garden in her backyard for her mother's birthday which is next month. I promised to help but i have no idea where to start and neither does she, anybody got any ideas? I know the mom likes flowers and nice looking plants. Tips or the names of sites i can go to would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Serg

Gardening is the best way to keep you busy on those quiet cool afternoons and you get to enjoy your works on the weekend and evenings with those you love to be with.

So lets get started.

Find the place you want to put it, measure out how big you want it, and dig up the ground taking out all the grass and weeds so that you have a clean work surface so to speak. Many people use boarders to keep their gardens neat and uniformed you will have to decide which is best for you. Once you have your design worked out and the ground the way you want it all you have to do is put your plants in. Now the plants will be completely up to you and where you live. Is this going to be a flower garden or a vegetable, where you live and the type of climate will also make a difference so you will have to get some help with that, if you have a Home Depot in your area you can get all the help you need from them with all the stuff you will need including the plants.

If you want a good web site to go to then go to HGTV Gardening, and watch Paul James he is good and has done many episodes that can and will be a great help to you. Just watch the videos which will run about 6-7 minutes and they will give you some great ideas.

Good luck and take care Keep the Faith....PEACE....cya....

the first one is kind of boring though so skip it and go on to the next one. good luck again....
Reply:Well, in order to creat a garden you have to find out the landscaping of it and find out what type of sol there is because if you buy something that is not whats the word ummmmmmmm......natural to the soil at least than your garden will be a dead one. Report It
